No winter sucks? I can think of a few that did. No place is perfect and I like PA.

Doesn't really matter to me. I don't want to live in NJ either, unless it's at the beach which is way too expensive considering you still have to deal with cold winters. I spent 6 years living in Brigantine when I was single and liked it, but the prices and taxes are just insane. I want to live where the climate is more temperate in the winter(but not someplace super hot either), since I have had a fusion on my spine and the metal rods and the cold temps are very painful together.

And that's just fine for them, if they are happy. I personally would prefer to live elsewhere and intend to as soon as my son graduates HS and gets himself settled, either in more schooling or a job, since he doesn't want to leave Philadelphia.

and thats good for you. your son seems to have it right. for the most part philly has the things i want within reach for nonrich. its just as easy to fix whats wrong with it than to find paradise
