Do any of you think NBC could one day relocate it's corporate offices to Philadelphia? Personally I think that would do wonders for the city.

Also, I don't think people give credit to Philadelphia's amount of tall buildings because all of them are cluster a few blocks from each other and not spread out like Atlanta or Houston or Dallas which makes their skyline look larger. You can't compare Philadelphia to New York or Chicago, which are in general much larger cities and have always been skyscraper cities. Philadelphia was never really into the skyscraper craze. I mean, we didn't build anything taller than City Hall until 1987... even to this day a lot of emphasis is put on human scale buildings, and the neighborhoods. However, I think the city is slowly becoming more accustom to and more comfortable with skyscrapers. I mean, we are seeing highrises and skyscrapers built in West Philadelphia (University City), and in North Philadelphia. This is something we've never seen before and I think we will see this occurring more often.

Now, if we look at the tallest buildings in the country... the only cities with buildings taller than buildings in Philly are:

NYC
Chicago
LA
Houston
and Atlanta

on top of that, Houston only has two buildings taller than Comcast Center, and LA and Atlanta only have one building taller than Comcast Center.

Also, if we look at the top 50 tallest buildings in the US, only Chicago and NYC have more than Philadelphia.

NYC- 16 (with like 10 under construction)
Chicago- 13 (with one or two under construction)
Philadelphia- 4
Houston- 3
Atlanta- 2
Los Angeles- 2
Dallas- 2
Cleveland- 1
Seattle- 1
Charlotte- 1
San Francisco- 1
Boston- 1
Oklahoma City- 1
Pittsburgh- 1
Indianapolis- 1

So, in my opinion, Philadelphia fares quite well in the tall building category when compared to it's peers. If you ask me, Philadelphia just needs to build more building in the 500 and 600 foot category to flesh out the skyline a little. Would also like to see at least one Supertall, but I really don't think Philadelphia is slacking at all in the tall building category, especially since it has only been doing so for 30ish years... which is like 60-70 years later than every other city.
Minneapolis- 1

That's great news for the residents of Camden, NJ as they now have a big chain grocery store in city proper. Most of the residents had to either leave town or rely on corner stores for their grocery shopping. We all know most corner stores carry nothing but junk food.

some information about some future ground level changes at Drexel - the new space on 32nd street (Perelman Plaza) will be really nice .... wasn't that long ago that it was just a concrete slab with some foodtruck, then a decade ago they officially killed that portion of 32nd, put in a little green space and tucked the trucks away a little ..... this redesign that will play nicely into the new quad and some of the other developments like chestnut square will be nice

not shocking to hear, although still a bit disapointing, that the PVCA is on edge about the dorm mention upthread at 34th & lancaster
