The Curtis Center has been sold to a local entity that plans to convert the space to mixed use, with a significant portion developed into luxury apartments: Curtis Center sold for $125M, with some luxury apartments planned. The building, which occupies the entire block just north of Washington Square was once home to Curtis Publishing Co. which published such venerable magazines as the Ladies Home Journal and the Saturday Evening Post. Just inside the east entrance is a quite large and beautiful Tiffany mural by Maxfield Parrish. If you haven't been there, take quick walk through - the atrium lobby is quite grand. I suspect that once some of the space is converted to residential, much of the grand floor entrance may be closed to the public.

Hopefully the mural will at least still be acessible to the public. Especially after all the local efforts and fundraising to keep it in the city, and not sold off and moved to Vegas(!)
I thought the mural was now actually owned by PAFA, and not likely part of the sale to the developer (but who knows).

Pretty sure I read the same thing. Plus I believe the atrium is big moneymaker, leasing out to weddings, private parties etc. I suspect and hope they will do their best to make this conversion a win for all involved.

Hopefully the numbers will continue to increase. Also there was no crime reported at the subway stations, so that's great news to hear.
