Yep, thats it. It was Royal auto parts. But the motorcycle shop was on McDowell, south side of the street. In the back lot he had everykind of old junk and wrecked cycles piled up there. You're right about the Indians, inside he had a few old ones!

Default Used to be on the Grid

I remember Phoenix in the 90s. It was the best. After year 2000 things started looking like it was changing big time...new roads, more houses, new businesses, its just not the same anymore. I used to live on the grid and now Im off the grid. I miss the old Phoenix. Not impressed with the today's Phx. I live in WA state now.

I got a good chuckle when I read your post Happy.I was saying the same things in the 70's and 80's before I moved in '91. And I remember my folks saying the same things when I was a kid, refering to the good old days in Phoenix in the 40's and 50's. Kinda reckon it's always been that way.

It was an amusement park out on Washington St around 60th St. It was closed down and torn down MANY years ago, so depending on when you grew up here, you might not have heard of it.

Wanna buy a house? You know, the price seems high to me. Wonder what they are selling for now?

1954, there were other homes starting at $10,000.

I recall seeing his later development around Thunderbird and 32nd Street. A 3 bedroom house had 750 square feet! Down the street from the model home there was a dismantled car in the front yard already.
