Below is a link to Minor League Baseball history in Arizona from 1915 to 1957. There is a picture of the old Phoenix Municipal field. There is no picture of the front of the stadium, but compare the outfield fences between the two pictures.

Wow...I saw AC/DC there on October 17, 1985 for the "Fly on the Wall" tour. The show was originally scheduled for Compton Terrace but got moved at the last minute. The stage was in center field and it was awesome to be able to get that close. AC/DC was AWESOME as always..Yngwie Malmsteen opened up for them..and was pretty forgettable.

I've seen the track but never have watched a race there. I remember, as a boy, having my neighbor who liked kart racing take me to kart races over by Mr. Lucky's in that area of Grand Avenue. That would have been around 64 or 65.

I remember that in the fifties they had soapbox derbies there. I don't know how long they had them. They were much publicized events. I think eventually youngsters came to see such things as passe, unfortunately, as they were, in a way, youthful engineering projects, similar to the projects engineering students do today at some of our best universities.

I went to Central High School in the late seventies/early eighties. I lived in the Windsor Square neighborhood off of Central and Camelback. I walked down Central Avenue every morning and home every afternoon. I have fond memories of this. Why?

Why not? Sounds like the kind of memories a lot of us have.

Here is a scarce postcard of a sand sculpture at Chris-Town. It is King Cole's castle but I see two castles, a church and a town. Great times back then but who knew the future. I never even heard of a gang in Phoenix until 1990.
