LONG LIVE PARRY'S BEER & WINE JOINT and the CASA LOMA!!!!!
Between Rundles and Liquor Barn I spent way too much on liquid refreshment that frankly was only rented for a little while. However, it made the challenge of an engineering degree much less painful.

Anybody remember Mr Steak at 35th Ave & Glendale?
Best steak san in town. I was a busboy in my early teens.
The building is still there, as is the building next door that was formerly a Whataburger when they still had the high peaked red roofs.

Whataburger? I vaguely recall a jingle:

(Come to the red roof, that's Der Weinerschnitzel)
Just a come on out to eat (Der Weinerschnitzel)
Get a real taste treat (Der Weinerschnitzel)
With the food that can't be beat.
(He's talking about) I'm a talkin' about
Der Weinerschnitzel!

Fun picture, with stains and crop marks, probably a wire photo. I think it was promoting tubing on the river or Big Surf. Trying to figure out where it was taken, maybe at the Republic building on Van Buren looking west. After looking some more maybe it is just a big doughnut.

Where was the Greyhound station? Was it on Van Buren? Washington? That looks like BUS on the sign.

I went through my postcards and here is the bus station on 1st Street and Van Buren. You can see the palm trees in front of the Republic and Gazette building.

Do you notice the traffic shot was staged? The Lincoln Continental can't turn because there are pedestrians but it has cut off the traffic going north. Photo must be 1957.
