Good. The place is a dump. We met some friends there recently so our kids could play in the indoor space playground and the mall is run down, filthy, and empty. Tear it down and move on.

I've said this before with castles n coasters there that site would be perfect for an amusement park. Centrally located with freeway access.

The mall itself is a dump and I don't think there's too many people that wold miss it. I actually think all the new retail that's popped up in the last several years north of Metro Parkway and along Peoria Avenue is great though. It's a really nice start toward building an actual community between Dunlap and Peoria if they redevelop in the manner they're discussing. I hope they move forward with it sooner rather than later.

Agree with this. The mixed use plan the developers have will go a long way toward revitalizing that part of Phoenix.

Let it go and expand Castles N' Coasters into something larger! The infastructure is here, somebody somewhere has to have some money to invest in this.

I don't know, there's something kind of sad about old malls closing, especially if you have nice memories from there. There was a mall around here that closed about ten years ago, its anchors were JC Penney and Mervyns, and it sat empty for years before finally being demolished.

If they are adding senior living space, and doctors office, There is NO WAY they are going to expand it, and they are more likely to tear it all down so they could move it somewhere else, (which probably would never happen either).

I'm all for revitalizing the area, but I don't think bringing in a Wal-Mart is the way to do it....in my opinion, Chris-Town Mall started going downhill after that happened.

A theme park has been suggested for that area, and it would be a perfect way to either expand Castles & Coasters, or tear it all down & build a large amusement park that has the potential to be a national attraction. However, you know what the obstacle would be: NIMBYs! They're adamantly opposed to theme parks, and they'd be crawling out from under their rocks to protest loudly. Then again, the proposal for a multi story office building probably won't be too welcomed by NIMBYs either. They'd be upset about their mountain views or sunlight being blocked.

I agree. They want to revitalize Metrocenter into an urban village, but then they want to build a WalMart, which just adding more suburbia as far as I'm concerned. Not very good forward thinking planning, but that's Phoenix for you!
