That's not how it usually works. With Odysea acquarium, they gave them the land but the company built the acquarium. The company leased the land from them

Unless they somehow merge a casino with the stadium, I don't see why they would build it either. They are not stupid. They are not going to rely on "sales tax" revenue to recoup 200 million in construction costs.

That being said, a casino style stadium would be a fun experience.

The only place I can see the Coyotes succeeding is the east valley where the tribal land is located. That location is perfect. You would get the Scottsdale, PV, Tempe, Chandler and Mesa population for sure because that's just easy drive up north( for most of the east valley) on the 101 which is going against traffic.

Neither should even consider spending more than they will be getting in return and should be making money from the transaction. As an example if income tax from team and tax from tickets and merchandise all equals $30 million per year I could see Govt kicking in $20 million per year to support an arena. No idea if numbers are anywhere near accurate FTR.
Sadly, Seattle will pull the trigger. They learned their lesson after losing the Sonics so now they will do whatever they can to recoup sports team. They will give them 200-300 million to build a stadium in Seattle.

This would be the marker to bust the coastal city bubble and particular Amazon - Seattle bubble. Seattle has 40% more building cranes than the next US metro. Everyone buys into the inner city and online retail bubble by now. Phoenix would be wise to let the Coyotes go and win the economic future for the next 20 years. If after that they start attracting major sports teams again... then he suburbia bubble will burst. Still a long time away though.

They build the arena and the Yotes lease it from the tribe, plus with other shows and concerts there, the tribe gets their money back that way.

Your take: Coyotes fans weigh in on NHL's arena ultimatum

I can see that happening. Plus if the tribe incorporate some type of gambling or casino as part of the stadium (club level section with gaming that is adult only) or a casino that directly connects to the stadium would be big for them.

Sure, it's wrong in my view no matter what private company is getting, plants/stores/stadiums/etc., built for them in a large part via tax payers dollars, especially with little to no to negative ROI which is what happens in the stadium building biz. I certainly appreciate the bought off nature of politics/favors owned to the donors but voters should wake up and vote people out who play this game as voters have the ultimate say in this.

The only stadium I'm for is a dual arena downtown with the suns otherwise they have a perfectly good arena built for them in Glendale or they can leave.

Or a hotel as well. They should make their money back eventually, but you're right it will be a big investment on their part initially. Plus this type of partnership/development has never happened before in any of the "Big 4" leagues, so this would be uncharted territories.

Maybe they can do an extreme move, a first of its kind, and cut the Glendale arena up into pieces and truck it across the metroplex and reassemble it!

I'm sure after the Yotes leave Glendale, they would probably want to get rid of the arena anyways. It would be the greatest building recycling ever. Epic, I tell you.
