You obviously have never been to San Jose so you have no idea what I am talking about. Who cares about Chicago? It has nothing to do with this issue.

Phoenix has far more people from areas that are considered hockey country than San Jose does.

We're only using other teams to illustrate what can be done with some patience, a solid team, and good coaching. The Blackhawks are the PRIME example, hence the discussion. I'm confident that with a new stadium in a new location, a solid, young core, and time, the Coyotes will be a contender.
The Blackhawks are no more a prime example than several other teams. We should actually be looking at the other expansion teams for comparison with the Coyotes, not the original 6 NHL teams.

We are talking about why the Coyotes fans don't show up. Most attributed it to a crappy team and bad location. People give up on the Yotes when they don't produce. We were talking about giving the team time, Cups aren't generated overnight. I think people saw the early success of the Dbacks and almost expected that of the Coyotes, too? I dunno. I used the Hawks as an example of a team that went through the basement bottom for over 5 decades. It takes time to build a perfect storm of talent/management/etc. And if youre counting "expansion teams", that would be everyone from 1967 to present day. That's A LOT of teams.

Many people including me are from hockey country but most of the NHL fans remain loyal to the teams they left behind.

You can easily find more Red Wings and Blackhawks fans here than Coyotes fans.

Yes it's super easy to find fans of the original 6 teams yet some of those folks are upset at the idea of the coyotes leaving, well not supporting your new home town team will mean no more home team.

I agree with you 100%. The point is that they are still hockey fans and more likely to attend games than people that have no clue about the game.

I grew up with the game and played hockey for 25 years. When I traveled I would always make a point of attending a game wherever I was if it was in hockey season. I have seen games in many different places, both NHL and minor league. BTW, I do the same for baseball which is my second sport's love.

Most of us support BOTH the Coyotes and our old home teams. We buy the tickets. We attend the games. We pay for the parking. We buy the food. We feed the Coyotes money. How about you guys?

Eh they suck and they're over an hour away, on I10, staring directly into the sun.

When colangelo owned the team I used to go, but these days they're just crappy drama queens. They could learn a thing or two from the Cardinals and how they embraced and improved after their new stadium.

Ownership matters. Instability has been haunting the Coyotes for at least 5 years. The arena drama only adds fuel to the fire. I think the location can be worked with but the pathetic clowns running their operation is killing the team. A stable group could do much better and would be more viable even playing at Westgate.
