Lol, I don't live there for many reasons. I find it funny people complain about things that are within their means to change

The majority of the fanbase doesn't live in Central Phoenix; they live in the East Valley, which is why most of the locations that are being explored are in the East Valley. In addition, Talking Stick Resort Arena is substandard for hockey with poor sightlines.

The only place that makes sense is downtown at the convention center south building with the Suns. It's right on the light rail with existing entertainment and dining options. Anywhere else makes zero sense and don't give me the they won't share an arena. Multiple basketball and hockey teams share an arena and if they don't live them go somewhere else then.

Too bad things that usually make the most sense, are most often not done.

If approximately 80% of their fans live in the east valley, why does it make the most sense to put them in downtown? You will run into the same problems that you have now. Hockey is a fringe sport here. People are not going to sit through traffic to drive to a game in downtown on a weeknight for the same reason they won't go to Glendale. Sure, maybe it's not as far as Glendale but it's significantly further away than putting in Scottsdale off the 101 whether thats Talking Stick or further south near the 202.

Sure, maybe it's not a 60-90 minute drive, instead, it's 45-60 minute drive.

The best place to put them is the Talking Stick resort area off the 101 or south of there near the 202/101. There, you will get people to attend the games on weeknights. That will be a 20-30 minute drive for most east valley residents.
So then you make us in Central Phoenix have to drive...

I work downtown across from the arena and ride the light rail to the park and ride. Yesterday the Diamondbacks game hit out right when I got off work and there were so many fans hopping on the light rail. We were packed in like sardines and there were lines at the restaurants downtown. So it makes the most sense to build it downtown.

Yeah, I'm sure most of the Suns fans and D'baks fans and any other team in the valley you can name has the majority of their fanbase in the east valley. The east valley has the majority of people in the valley as well. The suns are looking for a new arena, we all know this. I see filling up an arena with events from 2 major sports leagues as a better option than just 1.

Love to see where you got that 80% figure from?
