Where did you get that Scottsdale is not East Valley? It's technically the East Valley and has traditionally always been thought of as being a part of the East Valley. It has a 480 area code which was assigned to East Valley cities when it was created.

This is yet another ongoing controversy in the C-D forums. We already have a thread on that discussion --> //www.city-data.com/forum/phoen...st-valley.html

Back to the east vs. west debate, please.

LOL Oh yeah I forgot, there is a controversy among controversy...hilarious. Seriously, don't we have better things to discuss than East Valley vs West Valley like the heat or scorpions

We do, for a while, but then the old stuff comes back and it's off and running again. Sort of like a Hatfield and a McCoy running into each other on the street after a time of relative peace.

That is an old, tired, and overly broad statement. Let's tone down the hyperbole, please.

Scottsdale is the East Valley and it's been considered that my whole life. Just some modern transparent myth that it isn't. I'm regards to the eat/west side battle. Moderator cut: snip

or maybe things have changed over the past 20 years................

when people live and commute in from queen creek what is east, central & west will evolve

also, the northern part of the metro is so developed

what used to be E & W is way more complex now

That's a joke of a statement. Nothing could further from the truth. You are going to compare Glendale, Goodyear, Peoria and Surprise to Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler and Gilbert? There is no competition.

East Valley by a country mile. It's not just that it's got far more development and shopping, you don't hear anywhere near as much crime on the news in the East Valley. Ever notice that 90% of the crimes on the news nightly involve crimes on the "Avenues" and not "Streets" ? I rest my case.
