Some interesting notes here: Buffalo Blues has closed and other restaurant news, including:

Quote:
Popular taco stand with locations in Brookline, Oakland and Washington, Pa., Las Palmas moved into the original Casa Rasta location in Beechview about a month ago. Las Palmas had been selling tacos outside of the former IGA supermarket in the neighborhood. The second location of Casa Rasta opened a year ago then closed in East Liberty last month.

I read, in another place, that their previous license was a "hotel license", because they had rooms to let in the floors above, and when they were taken out to prepare for Umami, they lost that license.
But the new one is pending.

Speaking of Las Palmas, anyone see how they got busted by the health department for improper temperatures?

Meh. I eat out a lot because I typically have neither the energy nor 30-60-minutes to cook dinner when I'm working 12-hour shifts. Over all the years of eating at restaurants that I've later learned received health department infractions I've only ever received food poisoning once, and that was earlier this year from Olive Garden.

Then I guess you probably don't want to check out their food truck this weekend?

If anyone's interested in putting a face to a name, I'll be the guy in line over and over again for free breadstick sandwiches all day Saturday.

America.

Food & Wine reviews the breadstick sandwich.

I think the reviewer is right. Park this thing on Carson St at 2am if they really want to reach appreciative masses.

The South Side might be a good location to locate a new Olive Garden store. Mayor Peduto should conduct some talks with the execs at Darden to bring the jobs to the city proper.
