The counties providing the most economic output voted overwhelmingly for Clinton. She won areas that make up 2/3 of the overall economic output in this country.
Trump won in 2016 because he wasn’t Hillary and many middle of the road voters didn’t like either candidate. In the voting booth those people went for trump in a landslide and were reflected in polls as the 8-10 percent undecideds in 2016.
Polls were right in 2018.
IMO polls that I have seen are underestimating a Biden victory. It is going to be massive and a wipeout. You can’t fix the economy without controlling the virus. Trump talks a big game, argues with Fauci but won’t fire him. He should just fire Fauci and set the path forward the way he wants it, but it’s too easy to punt the responsibility to the governors which have been left hanging by the federal leadership to do their own thing. The only reason trump keeps Fauci is he needs a scapegoat, somebody to blame. The man has never taken responsibility for anything and his presidency to this point shows it.
Be a man fire Fauci and set the path forward on your own. Deal with the consequences good or bad for your actions.
