Liberals (most) are for the underdog. Liberals are a cause waiting for a fight; logic has nothing to do with it. I do disagree with your comment about Atheist; Atheist or mostly logical people and usually don't go out of their way to fight religion. I think the Atheist you refer to (anti-theist) are really a newer breed of religious folks that fall in line to protest or support whatever religion they feel will bring them the most attention. In my opinion a lot of liberal folks are "cause shifters" because they rarely show any consistency in their plight. IE; some liberals are "anti-oil" but throw up huge barriers to newer energies.
My point is, for a lot of liberals, damming Christians and exalting Muslims is the fad of the time.
Not all liberals are this way but like conservatives, a few bad apples give the appearance of a spoiler barrel.

FYI, I’m a pro choice, Agnostic conservative.

Bravo! Way to make a strawman. The reality is the people he is talking about simply want the constitution honored and enforced so that no religion is endorsed by the government while we have yet to see an example of supposed liberals "loving Islam". He's claiming that because someone wants the constitution enforced so that the 10 commandments or some other religious text are posted in Government buildings that that is "hating Christianity" while he can't come up with a cite for liberals wanting Islamic texts put up on public buildings. The whole thing is a strawman fallacy from start to finish.

I guess we're all used to it though since wing nuts come up with fallacies like this a dozen times a day.

I am a LIBERAL and I do not want to see our, or any other, government favor any religion as part of governmental affairs.

A State religion allows the State to use religion to justify atrocities and the religion to use State force to mandate attendance and tithing. This is bad for both the State and the Religion and enslavement for the people.

You have to understand, these people are taught to be binary in their thinking process. If you are not a devout Christian, then by default...you must be a rabid Islam Jihadist Supporter. If you do not approve of what Israel is doing in the Middle East, by default... you are a Jew Hating Arab lover.

Yes for most of us this is utter rubbish, but that is how they think, taught by that illustrious institute of higher learning, Rush/Hannity/Beck U.

Thinking (or rather not thinking) in binary describes this phenomenon perfectly.

Default goes beyond religion

Labels aside, there has been an 'Ugly American' perception which generates guilt in some people to treat our culture, including the Judeo-Christian roots, as an embarassment.

If we visit other cultures we are expected to show deference and respect. By the same token, visitors here ignore our culture as we defer to their behaviors, language and beliefs. Tolerance would seem to be born of our religious background while the secular attitude prevalent in other countries seems to support a provincial, ethnocentric and nationalistic attitude displayed by visitors to our shores. That is a generalization of course.

Consider the language laws in Belguim where a French derived citizen burried in the north has to, by law, have the burial ceremony performed in Dutch.

"Among the issues roiling this Franco-Dutch land: Whether folks in the Brussels suburbs can bury their dead in a language other than Dutch, or whether a 75-year-old politician can make a speech in French in a mainly Dutch district."

This is where we are headed. You really want to go there?

Modern day assasinations and attempts on the life of movie makers, editors and authors for besmerching tennants of Islam make a person think twice about offending Islam. Poke a stick in the cage of a Judeo-Christian tennant and all you get is a cry of 'ouch'. The bars of civility and religious beliefs ensure there are no physical repercussions.

Old Europe sees the US as devoid of any vestige of culture because of our lack of 'history'. When you see 1272 on a house in Zurich it is probably the date the house was built as opposed to the street number. This is an attitude that has seeped into some US liberal Europhiles that we see institutionally manifested.

The disrespect and Judeo-Christian cleansing taking place in the USA as sanctioned by lawyers and the federal government is offensive and destructive. Live by the law die by the law..... as our society is being destroyed and left rudderless as religious guidelines are replaced with flawed beaurocratic derived secular ethics and laws.

Isalm has built in rules to deal with perceived infidel insults while the J-C do not. Wait while I turn the other cheek, please.

Liberals confuse "separation of church and state" with "elmination of God from the state".

The separation of church and state is directed toward the church influencing political decisions and participating in government. The left has perverted this wise decision by the founding fathers as a justification to remove ANY REFERENCE TO GOD from ANY PUBLIC VENUE. This is liberal insanity at work and has resulted in completely ridiculous measures to remove any reference to God from money, public buildings, or government entities.

Witness the liberal insanity-

1. wanting to remove "In God We Trust" from money
2. Removal of the ten commandments from any courthouse
3. removal of memorial crosses from any public areas
4. removal of any Christmas decorations from public buildings or schools

This is nuts. It is a far cry from the Pope intervening on the part of the operations of the US government (this is what the founding fathers wanted to avoid). Gain some common sense. There is not, nor has there ever been, a religion or relgious group that has gained control of the government. There has, on the other hand, been an attack on Christianity by the lunatic left using the fear of a theocracy as thier justification. Amazing. Again- liberalism is a mental disorder.

IMO most liberals are total cowards. They would rather give this country away than defend it. Mock a Christian and they turn the other cheek. Mock Islam and they hunt you down. Liberals don't know how to handle that.

Libreals hate Christianity (or at least any public display of it) and they see Islam as a tool to attack and weaken our nation's Christian culture and heritage. Ultimately the joke will be on them for if they destroy our will to resist the Islamic cultual invasion, as has happened in Europe, then thy and their lifestyle will be the first victims of a Sharia-dominated Amerca.
