I'm not sure, but I thought they had to have 75% of the votes, or something like that.

There is no Tier V.

This bill is retroactive to June 2.

You have not provided much detail but if you were not eligible for EB and ineligible to collect benefits after April, you might have exhausted your entire claim. More information may allow board members to help you or even better to speak to your state's DOL to get a full explanation of the state of your benefits.

A 'simple majority' which is 218 (there are 435 Representatives in the House)

The misinformation on the details of this bill that are floating around the internet is mind-boggling. One site said UI checks will only be cut until November 2010; another site claimed COBRA reductions end for "everyone"; and then there is the dueling interpretation of what the extension really "extends"...eligibility to collect on ALL the tiers you would qualify for or just the next available one.

That's probably because nobody actually spends the time to read the bill. Even if they did it's not the easiest thing to understand the phrasing they use in them.

Will I be eligible for this new extension? I haven't been following this one at all, since I really didn't have much hope for it. I'm a 99'er in michigan, have exhausted the last of that in I think March. I have NOT been calling and certifying every other week, as others have said to do, because I didn't feel the need to call endlessly for something I never expected to happen. Someone please fill me in? This is my last hope before cashing in my 401k to pay the rent.

Most 99ers are waiting for an answer to that question. Without a new Tier a lot of people will have to cash in their investments or go homeless.

This doesn't add a new tier, it only gets everyone to the 99 week mark until the end of november.

This bill did not extend benefits beyond 99 weeks but provide continued coverage to those who had eligible benefits through November 30. While I understand your frustration, I think it is still important to certify so the state has more accurate statistics of those who have exceeded 99 weeks if any legislation where arise out of that issue.

I am ascertain it's not a good feeling to have to rely on what were planned retirement funds. Some people are not that fortune to have that second layer of support. I wish you the best in acquiring employment as soon as possible.
