That's right! As is always the case with low employment, as sales increase, companies will hire more people to satisfy the demand. Not until then, will that hiring take place.

The purpose of a corporation is to make money for the share holders. How will we see that happening after the government takes over all corporate activity? I just don't understand.
For once I agree with you, you really don't understand. Just WHO ever proposed government taking over all corporfate activity? What people are damn tired of seeing/hearing is some bloated CEO crying "I'm hungry! " while holding a juicy drumstick in each hand and asking his taxes be made next to nothing in order to put a coupla hundred more drumsticks on ice.

OK I reviewed this already but one more time just for you. Those profits were due to increased productivity, people were fired and those left behind were expected to do more. Profits did not increase due to increased sales. It is only thorugh increased sales that employment will pick up. Get it?

Yes, but where will that hiring take place? You can bet it WON'T be here!

How can you expect them to see what they don't know?

Look right here on these boards. We have a HUGE number of people who don't know the difference between socialism, communism and fascism. In fact, a lot here regularly use the terms interchangably!

In the face of such abject ignorance, how you think The People will be able to oppose the forces of the Corporatocracy?

Of course it will. Do you expect 10% unemployment forever. Don't be afraid of globalization.

And if, as often happens these days, those increased sales lead to more offshore jobs, those companies should be rewarded?

They shouldn't be rewarded or penalized. But most of those jobs will remain right here. Have you heard the latest ADP number?

Really? Do you have any evidence to support that notion, or is it just wishful thinking?

And, by the way, the actual unemployment rate is far higher than 10%. The official statistics only consider those who are drawing, or have filed, for unemployment insurance. There are millions more who have run out of benefits or haven't filed at all. There's also the issue of the guy who was making $25 per hour until his job went to China and now works at McDonald's for 6 bucks. Technically, he's employed and is not counted among that 10%.

Manufacturing
jobs cannot remain here when they're not here to start with. How many will be created here when the lure of the 'China price' is so strong?
