About 7.8 million Floridians with pre-existing health problems could lose coverage or face higher insurance costs if the new health-care law is repealed, the Obama administration warned on Tuesday.
The estimate released by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius reflects an administration backlash to repeal efforts in the House, where debate on the new law begins on Tuesday. A vote is expected later this week.
Democrats, backed by AARP, launched a lobbying effort on several fronts, including a press conference scheduled later Tuesday by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston, who will argue that repeal would have devastating consequences.
Most all the 7.8 million couldn't afford the insurance anyway because it costs a small fortune. There are no subsidies and in fact when another couple of years pass there is a $5000 fine for NOT having insurance.
We've had in CA our own right to get insurance and for my wife who is high risk it is $700 a month at age 31. Due to the recession and Obammycare there is an attempt to again increase the premium another 20-25%.
Sure let them pay through the teeth if they can afford it.
This is not welfare or a gift for those that just want to sign on to give $15,000 a month in medical bills to the insurance companies.
Obammycare is 500% over budget, so that is more devastating consequences to us than anything IMO.
The public don't want the repeal. Many don't like everything about the bill, but very few actually want a repeal. I believe the number was less than 25% who wanted a repeal. The Republicans are acting strictly against the will of American people.
That's what they do best, they mastered the art of making people vote against their own interests.
WDW is NOT the largest employer if FL or even in Central FL.
Please stop posting mis-information!
FL has many other employment opportunities other than tourism and retirees.

The largest employer in FL is Disney World. For the most part low paying jobs with no benefits.
Republicans are just playing pretty for the base. I swear, if I were a Republican, I'd be down right pissed that they were wasting my tax dollars on a repeal bill that isn't going to do anything.
Most Americans don't like the healthcare bill in its current form. Somewhere around 80%. However, most of those folks want it to do more, not less.
If Republicans really wanted to do "what the people want", they'd submit changes to the bill that was already passed, and fix what can be fixed.
Instead, they are playing prom queen and putting on a show for people who would like them whether they did what was right or not.
Unfortunately, you're "casting pearls in front of swine."
