Do you not see the distinction between advocating for a healthy diet and having the occasional party with friends (at which healthy foods WERE available!)?
Thats a subtle difference many of these folks dont be able to seem to grasp.
Makes one wonder what they are eating themselves.......

No. The difference is irrelevant. The lefties want to deflect from this issue, as usual.
The issue is Michelle Obama made healthy eating her cause and she had a party where she know she would receive media attention and had a host of very unhealthy food items available.

There are no gray areas here.
I notice that people of extreme political views often aren't able to see the color grey, or any other colors except black and white.

Everything has gray areas, the subject matter is irrelevant.
I dont suppose it has occurred to the niggling nabobs on this thread that perhaps, just perhaps, the First Lady was using this party to illustrate the point that its possible to eat in a healthy manner, and still have the occasional treat?
It does not matter one bit if they are large or small or anything in between. The point is, Michelle made this her cause and she is setting a poor example.
I know you are not drinking so much kool-aide that you cannot see this.
I guess what got my attention is that instead of giving healthy choices they were talking about requiring children in school to choose the healthy choice. I think it is good to teach children what is the good choice to make, but I draw the line when certain foods are required. I have been made to drink my milk and then it made me sick. I have been required to sit at the table until I did drink my milk in school. When you require a child to eat what they do not like, you make lunchtime a misery and good digestion requires less stress. We were never allowed to talk about unpleasant things at the dinner table at home. Dinner was a joyous occasion with many healthy choices a our home.
Healthy choices are good but some people have difficulty eating those healthy choices. The government wanting to have control over what goes into a persons mouth is a little bit too much big brother for me.
That is totally irrelevant. She made her cause healthy eating and she needs to eat healthy -especially while hosting an event that she knows will gather media attention.
She does eat healthy. And, seeing as how there were plenty of healthy foods in addition to the unhealthy stuff, I'm not sure where the controversy is coming from.
Even a delicious, juicy, greasy, cheeseburger can fit into a healthy diet once in a blue moon.

LOL. That is a stretch and the best deflect that I have read on here so far.
