READ, LEARN...not everybody needs to PROVE that they're "good" by trotting off to a building on a certain day at a certain time....it's all show and means little since really bad people have attended church(like child raping priests who attend church all the time).
To base your opinion of a President or anyone else the on number of times they walked into a building is ridiculous....
See the thing is, the dude doesn't even go to church for the Christian holidays.
Loving your neighbor will help you enter Heaven, but it's not the main requirement nor is it . One has to believe in Jesus first and foremost. Regardless, Jesus never advocated the imprisonment of man who did not give to his neighbor. Finally, loving your neighbor is also interpreted as spreading the word of Jesus to him/her, not merely about redistribution of wealth. Jesus already condemned rich people into hell by claiming that it was harder for a rich person to enter Heaven as a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.
Oh really? Try James 2: 14-17. Faith is dead without living a life of love, helping others, and compassion. I don't think anyone was talking about replacing food and shelter with "spreading the word of Jesus" here. That's got to be about the most UnChristian excuse for selfishness that I've ever heard.

If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
I find it amusing that an avowed atheist is making a pronouncement on someone else's Christianity, or lack there of. It takes a lot of nerve and evidently Maher has it.
