That is fair!!! Fair is when Everyone is buying items and in many ways probably the only fair tax system. When someone buys a 1,000,000 car and or a 1,000 car they pay 3% end of story!
Government gets funding and does its basic functions and they can argue what that is but in the end taxes would not be tied to our incomes. Our spending habits in place with a balanced budget would keep government and our economic habits in check.
The Fair Tax IS a sales tax - a federal sales tax. It would replace the federal income tax. There are plenty of books on the subject.

OP, have you tried meth or cocaine? Those are not drugs you would want legalized. Even an invidual with a great deal of control will have hard time staying away from them after trying only once.

I don't think it's a good idea to make them easy to access. As of now, you still have to know 'someone' to get your hands on these things and fortunetaly, your average people do not know how to get these contacts.

This is EVIDENCE BTW: Evidence that refutes your claim.

The consequence of turning the tax code into a tool for social policy is that we now have a record 52 million filers off the income tax rolls. This means 36 percent of all so-called taxpayers actually pay zero in income taxes after taking their credits and deductions. But these figures don't include some 15 million people who work but don't earn enough to file a tax return. When these people are added to the non-payers, estimates the Tax Policy Center, the percentage of households who don't pay income taxes rises to 47 percent.
Why more Americans pay no income tax - CNN
Furthermore when you add the illegals who don't pay and don't file the % is much higher than 50%. Evidence based debating. Now that is how you do it BTW.

After this big long rant you sound quite silly. Your post refers in income taxes the Original Poster referred to all taxes in his original post

So you know better than grown adults?

If cocaine were legalized, having tried it before when I was younger, I know that I would never try that again.

See, I made a good decision. Its not anyone elses job to do that for me.

No, but I know that a great deal of people can't handle these drugs. Facilitating their access is not very wise.

And with the new obsession for being thin, a lot of people are ALREADY using these drugs for weight loss. Can you imagine if they were sold in stores?
