Why should I pay dues to the union president for not doing any work? So he can get himself a Lexus? So he could send his kids to college? I see no benefit from unions.
Learn this at a republican caucus??

Get educated lady. It sounds like the reason you have such a low opinion of teachers is because you skipped school so much. You know something? It shows.

Nobody seems to be able to answer this question, and I'm pretty sure I know why.

After I got my bachelor's, the STATE job I applied for (Child Protective Investigator) started at $27k plus bennies. That is pretty average pay for someone without a degree in something like engineering or biology.

sounds like your negotiating skills were at best..........poor.
You should rethink that union stance of yours

The opposite is also true. The unions take advantage of the government's ability to raise taxes to get more of everything and so far there's been no one to oppose them. Really this is the first time the government has seriously opposed the unions, and you can see the reaction for yourselves - massive protests, conspiracy theories, etc. And it took a financial crisis to show us who has the real power, who's really in charge, who's running the state - the unions. Yeah, they can demonstrate, take off work, occupy the legislative buildings. You gotta respect that. But was there ever a time when collective bargaining actually took place? I doubt it. Not if the collective always wins - which, I guess from the collective's point of view, is always right.

Again, there is no right to collective bargaining. It was a privilege given to us and it can be taken right back since it's being so horribly abused.

I have nothing else to say to you since all you want to do is be insulting.

Then don't quit.

Look. The state needs teachers. There won't be fewer teachers. There might even be more teachers. There might even be competition for a change. It's a pretty easy job if you ask me.

Good. I'm not against collective bargaining, as long as it's real, and the company is making a profit off your labor.
