Protecting the environment, and peddling global warming in a knee-jerk response way are two vastly different things. One actually protects the environment, while the other just saps tax money out of the west

I'm all for protecting the environment. Clean air, water, land...good stuff.

Did you know that Co2 is the LIFEBLOOD of the planet? That plants absolutely LOVE the stuff?

Except we are seeing deforestation at an alarming rate.

Good try, but not even close to reality.

Again you've not shown whether this is a long term trend or a statistical point. Showing that the rate of decrease has slowed and showing that the rate of increase has persisted over a sustained amount of time COULD give credence to your argument. Also, I've read about how deforestation affecting the microclimate CAN be a cause, not 100%, but a likely cause. However, if the rate of deforestation has slowed we should expect to see a slowing of ice retreat. Is that the case? These and more are needed to determine your claim.

On the larger scale. It's pretty much accepted by most scientists that global climate change is also affected by humans. To what extend, that is still up for debate. Seeing how we influence the climate...shouldn't we try to lower our impact?
