Climate changes all the time, and today is no different. Except that some idiots are trying to blame humans for changing the climate so they can make a quick buck and get more government control.
Thanks Glitch. I never knew that.

Just to clear things up, there are measured greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. At the beginning of the 20th Century these gases were not in our atmosphere at today's levels. Greenhouse gases hold heat. That's what they do. A humid day will cool off slower at night when compared to a day with less humidity. Same principle. Stuff in the atmosphere holding heat.

No one can take an unusually warm day and state for a fact that it is a result of global warming. Global warming is not that simple. Neither can someone declare that snow on a mountaintop discredits global warming. Again, it's just not that simple. Global warming is a long-term, year by year phenomenon.

It is not impossible that global warming may turn out to be a good thing. It's not likely, but it is a possiblity. It is also a possibility that mankind will simply adapt to higher global temperatures. Perhaps grow different crops at different latitudes, etc. But in the long run global warming will most likely be detrimental to life on earth, including human life. We will have to wait and see. I don't think it likely that global warming will be stopped anytime soon, let alone reversed.

They have been HIGHER than they are today, which is about .0038% of the Earth's atmosphere. Whoopee.

They just can't stop their fear mongering, even when they are totally discredited.

Oh yeah, we've heard that "thin ice" theory before, haven't we?

Somehow you actually think this disproves climate change?

Mount Kilimanjaro is slowly regaining its snow after several years of drought in East Africa. The effects of climate change and global warming could still affect the mountain’s snow layers which are becoming thinner and thinner.

Standing freely and majestically with its snow gleaming in the sun, Mount Kilimanjaro is in great danger of losing its eye-catching glaciers. The mountain is located some 330 kilometers and three degrees (3 degrees) south of the equator.

When in recorded history have they been higher?

Yes, CO_2 0.0038%. What's your point? More common gases don't absorb radiation, because they are monoatomic or diatomic.

WOW...you must be highly educated in the Earth Sciences at the University level....since it's so obvious that some snow on a mountain would disprove Global Warming.

SO PLEASE list your academic credentials(I have my Bachelor of Science Degree from The Pennsylvania State University in Earth Science/Geography) and then join us in our Science Forum where FACTS...trump PETTY POLITICAL AGENDAS......there you can prove your point with scientific links.....I'll be waiting AND Good LUCK...cause you're gonna need it!!!

These are the real SCIENCE LINKS we use in the SCIENCE FORUM>>>>>

This is just ONE example of the AGW hoaxsters fear mongering predictions that never never come to pass. There are plenty other. Really, I can't recall even one of their doomsday predictions coming true.

From polar bears to the arctic ice cap, to the Himalayas, to the hurricanes, to the floods, to the fires, to the mild snowless UK winters that weren't, to the non-existent sea level rise - all a bunch of hooey.

You need to be patient...Climate change is NOT a rapid process.

Current Sea Level Rise has occurred at a mean rate of 1.8 mm per year for the past century, and more recently, during the satellite altimetry era of sea level measurement, at rates in the range of 2.9-3.4 ± 0.4-0.6 mm per year from 1993–2010

Records show a persistent decline in Arctic Sea ice over the last 50 years.

Glaciers in the Himalayas are shrinking.

I don't think climate change predicted snowless UK winters..

Do you have any more "hooey" for me to shoot down...You must just make this stuff up....Admit it.

That's because there weren't any doomsday predictions, especially not for 2010. Predictions were somewhat higher temperatures, a bit more frequent extreme weather (droughts, floods, etc).

Does 20% of Pakistan going underwater last year count? What about the hottest summer in at least 1000 years followed by lots of wildfires and smoke? Or the very low arctic ice cover (though fluctuating) arctic sea ice cover of the past 5 years? Both the Northwest and Northeast Passage are navigable in at least some of those years for the first time since their discovery.
