I know this...if YOUR reproductive health is important to YOU, YOU should make a sacrifice and pay for YOUR doctors visit.
However, many of your fellow Americans live in depressed areas, are low skilled or (judging by the unemployment rate) can't get a job "tomorrow." And many of them are weeks away from poverty. Many of these people are hardworking and honest... A lot like you and me.
I know it's easy to see the poor as much different than you and me... drug addicts, irresponsible single women, and lazy and unmotivated. However the reality is we live in a country where many families are weeks away from poverty. Sad but true.
Living in a society means, to some degree, we take care of each other. Not sure why that idea is offensive to anyone... unless of course you are simply selfish.

You do know that there are poor people out there that can barely pay their rent and utilities, don't you? People that live paycheck to paycheck with nothing to spare.
You can't assume others can afford the cost of a doctor's visit, just because YOU can.
Asking some people to come up with approx. $400 to visit a gyno and pay for required testing is equivalent to asking others to come up with $15,000......they just don't HAVE it.
I have a better idea. Eliminate all welfare. Then pass on the tax savings to those who paid the taxes to begin with. Then let individuals do acts of charity with the extra income they have. That way welfare will cease to be an entitlement but rather genuine charity which benefits both the giver and the recipient.

-Collectivism? Yes WE are collectivist (for some things). You actually are free to refrain from participating in most things. See Amish putting their money where their mouths were- they minimally interact with commercial/ government forces on principle. The difference between these people and the others referenced in the OP is the intention of inflicting themselves upon vast swaths of the population through writ.
-When bodily deprivation (milk is not cake or an ipod) is an instrument of strife, we are obliged to confront it for the sake of insuring domestic tranquility and justice.
- When speaking about public policy (applicable to all uniformly), I AM legally (and from religious upbringing- morally) compelled to keep the wellbeing of all children in mind even if I didn't give birth to them. I do defend, support, and protect them through my consent to government. It would be grossly inappropriate of me to be in your home 'proving' it and I prefer to respect boundaries. I can prove it by donating to charity and without complaint pay taxes to support public policy that protects children. Anyone in need has a place to be directed-- charity, social services offices, or both. All things working intelligently, they work together, not contrary to one another.
-Amish & Quakers are pacifists and although they prefer no tax dollar of their own be used to provide armament to the military or local LE, however the greater good (our constitutional preamble) is upheld, and they pay their taxes without making a nuisance of themselves. The ideals of pacifism are upheld in their own lives directly, not forced on all others. That's what a healthy expression of religious freedom looks like. NOT what's passing itself off as religious.
-Amish pay more in taxes than non-sentient corporate entities boasting zero. What oath has a non-sentient legal abstraction made reflecting; "We mutually pledge our lives, fortunes and sacred honor"? Zero, zip, nada. What's wrong with this scenario if we are to be fair/ consistent with the spirit of point of sale type taxation systems? Taxation should, in principle, be leveled at the people deriving most benefit/ services from a system. I would strongly disagree with 80% taxes imposed upon anyone but when so many policies are servicing hoarders exclusively, it becomes the inevitable rate of taxation as byproduct of their own avarice. They're the kings of nothingness steadily cashing out America's best interests for personal gain.

I don't recall that part of the Bible where Jesus said it was the responsibility of government to relieve the suffering of the poor. Can you point it out to me? But I do recall instances where He said individuals have a moral responsibility to help the poor. Maybe we should get back to that version of Christianity.
This statement is best answered by the wisdom separating church and state. They need to be separate entities because blurring the boundaries makes a mess of them both. That's the nature of my grievance regarding these faux religious installed in politics.

According to him and many others, the poor are just faking it. They actually have enough wealth, but they have poor judgement on how to handle their money. In fact, they even live in secluded gated master planned communities. $300 for weekly for hair. $20 weekly for nails. $10 weekly for eyebrows. Not to mention flashy cars and expensive take out dinners.
The welfare class have it MADE!!!!
Second to the welfare class are teachers. You know with their fancy summer vacations, their high end beginning salaries, etc...
One day I hope to be a teacher on welfare. Watch out Bill Gates!
