You know it's going to be opinion. Perceptions are based on opinion, not fact. I've been all over the south. I find the culture distateful. I find people to be mean spirited and bigoted. I find that old stereotypes still haven't faded away despite the availability of communications and technology that show the contrary. I dislike the good ole boy network that is still present. I dislike the fact that even the more well off folks may still try to pretend that they are white trash rednecks with prejudiced attitudes.

BTW, this is more indicative of the rural south and smaller cities, not urban metros like Charlotte, Atlanta, Memphis, Dallas..

Do you realize you bemoan others for their supposed stereotypes, but then engage in stereotypes yourself? Do you also realize if you added up the metro populations of the areas you listed, you would have the vast majority of the peiople of the south? Do you realize in that, your entire post is inaccurate? It would have to read that MOST in the south are NOT as you described them to be.

I think you need to stop holding on to outdated stereotypes, read your own posts before you post, and oh yeah, dont think I haven't noticed you again didn't respond to my original post to you about 4 or 5 posts above.

Oh yeah, I'm from NYC but have been to all of those metros and many rural areas of the south. It is a land of great diversity. Your gross stereotypes are simply ignorant.
