Forcing people to speak the native language is wrong, but forcing people to not drink soda or have salt or have HC is A-OK with you?
That is different, those are examples of the smart people in the federal bureaucracy, who are simply imparting their sage wisdom upon the people, thru the velvet covered, iron fist of government.
This isn't anything new in Europe. They've been wrestling with how to deal with a large wave of Muslim immigration for years. I heard the other day that France passed a law banning females from covering their faces, including fines for any man forcing his wife to wear head coverings.
The odd thing about the Netherlands is that they're already a tri-lingual country (Dutch, English, German). Forcing people to speak Dutch seems a bit arbitrary.

EU citizens can go and live in the Netherlands whether they can - or cannot - speak the lingo.
No one's forcing anyone to do anything. If you don't want to learn Dutch don't move to the Netherlands.
Ultimately I can only imagine the outrage the other way around. A group of Dutchmen move to another country. Not only do they steadfastly refuse to learn the local language they demand both interpreters and that natives become fluent in Dutch.
I can only imagine the outcries of lazy, arrogant colonizers that would result!
Are you a joke ? Netherlands = Dutch ! If you can't speak Dutch you shoudn't live there, it's normal. And you shouldn't live in Russia if you can't speak Russian ! It's called "respect"
Childish tantrum. Stomping feet when wrong. Classic liberalism.
Lots of dogs on leashes prowling today I see. LOL.
