Every nation stole land from other nations. That's where nations come from.

Who didn't have slavery? Tell it to the Euros, Asians and Africans and the so called 'native Americans' who slaughtered each other. The indigenous people of North America were not Indian tribes or even indigenous.

Take a lesson from Japan and USA, mortal enemies now friends. Get over it.

An event that imapcts the largest number of people qualifies as a greater atrocity.

A great atrocity would be having elected representatives that betray constituents and pass legislation without reading it. The implications are many and severe and still be be revealed.

The media turning propaganda machine also impacts the entire nation and even the world as a pillar supporting a nation by checks and balances of government actions has collapsed.

Really? When did Luxembourg invade other countries? Every country had slaves at some point in time, not all invaded and stole land from others, especially not extremely inferior military cultures. Not to mention the constant writing treaties, signing them, and then subsequently breaking them within a decade of signing them, in order to do it again. And if you don't like it, we'll march you at gun point.

The United States committed Genocide against most Native Americans.

You could write a whole book about that... the US government and Americans in general have committed pretty terrible crimes against other Americans, and often in the name of democracy and God.

Aggressive nationalists invoked the idea to justify Indian removal, war with Mexico, and American expansion into Cuba and Central America. More positively, the idea of manifest destiny inspired missionaries, farmers, and pioneers, who dreamed only of transforming plains and fertile valleys into farms and small towns.

Adding a Trillion dollars to our national debt and spending the money on so called 'shovel ready jobs' to find out there were no 'shovel ready jobs'. That 80% of the money went to states to keep unionized workers in their high pay/big benefits jobs.
