I am not a pro-pot legalization proponent but I find the hypocrisy astounding that on one hand the DEA is granting licenses to Big Pharma to produce medical marijuana and on the other the FDA claiming it has no medicinal use. It's all about the $$.
If pot gets rid of nausea - it has a medical purpose. If it separates you from and unpleasant reality for a time..it has a medical purpose...If it increases your appetite it has a medical purpose...I don't understand how they believe a sedative such as Valium has a medical purpose but pot does not...I am not big on pot and really have no personal use for it BUT.......Having been a smoker I saw it's useful qualities ...and how it hinders well being and general health...
It makes me sick how government will allow the most insidious substances to be legal and prescribed and will attempt to suppress pot use...One of the reasons the status quo does not like pot is because some people who smoke simply will not comply to the norm..that profits an elite.
There are some alcoholics who have had problems with booze..that turn to smoking pot....The gov does not like that...it conflicts with the profits of their corporate friends. Here in Canada they are experimenting...I heard that those who have prescriptions for medical pot pay little for their "medicine" Recently the government has quietly added a TAX to the product...This is always the problem regarding government and pot...HOW to tax it...apparently the Canadian authorities are slowly figuring out a way to utilize this potential revenue tool.
