Well you act like because game systems exist, children cannot be deprived.

I am happy though...played Just Dance 2 with my son and little cousins. They beat me horribly and my arms will probably be sore tomorrow but it was fun
No idea what this is....

Now I'm watching Love & Basketball on BET and eating cherries ($1.99 a pound on sale) so yeah I am quite happy. Thanks for being concerned.
$1.99 pound for cherries is a great price, buy more, pit and freeze them to make cherry pies later...

The last Studebaker was built in 1966. Let's see, that was 45 years ago now. I'd bet that car is in the scrapyard by now.

That is federal income taxes only, and it includes some of the conservatives on this forum.

Read that elsewhere at it is quite appropriate to this discussion....
Perhaps. However, "true compassion" can only help so many. That's why we have other programs as well.

Is it your assertion A/C is a necessity in a vehicle?

Yes,and a lot of welfare is federally funded.

Then I guess the second part applies....

Never said they cannot be deprived...but as for as your comment kids survived before video game systems...well that's not the world we live in anymore.

Let me explain my point of view. I had a Nintendo, super Nintendo, Sega and PlayStation (at different times) growing up but I rarely played them because I was outside with my brothers or my cousins or my neighbors kids. I knew all the people on my block and most of the blocks around me. They knew me and my parents. I was always with a huge group of kids. We watched each other and the parents of the neighborhood watched us. My mom would be cooking dinner and I'd be off on my bike. My household could have survived without cable, video games, etc easily.

My son is very active..hyperactive ...but he can't go outside without me. Not even to ride his bike or bounce his ball and I don't live in a bad area but the world just isn't like it used to be. I don't know my neighbors. there are never any kids out playing except inside their own yards. Tried to get to know some two houses down because they have kids but they had so many activities it was almost impossible to spend any time with them.

I don't even let him play in the back yard unless I'm outside because it's not fenced. So the only time he goes out is if I take him So in times that I'm busy I really like having the Wii because he still gets to move around (without running in circles, which really annoys me) and I can be doing other things, like cooking dinner. And I don't have a DVD player (and he can't use my computer ) so he needs it to watch movies that I pick rather than Spongebob, which isn't allowed but on ALL day EVERY day.

And for me that is a benefit that is important to my family. If I was too run into financial trouble and need assistance for a short time, I wouldn't sell it because like I said the short-term benefits of selling it are outweighed by the long term benefits of him having it. Now I wouldn't go buy one if I was on assistance but if I had one, I wouldn't sell it.

And I'm not a big pie eater this bag of cherries will be gone by Friday.

They can because the libs, for the most part, believe the Federal Government should be the ONLY government. They are trying to take our "normal" system of Capitalism that contains some elements of socialism into what is almost all or ALL socialism because they think America's problem is because the rich run the country and the hate that. The rich don't run the county, they make is POSSIBLE for the county to run.

The libs are like this: If you have something out of reach of three people and a forth person comes in who is tall enough to reach the item, everything works for everyone. The tall person can reach the item and everyone - including the tall person - benefits. A Conservative viewing this situation would say, lets find a way for the shorter people to reach the item for themselves so they are less dependent on the tall person. The way the government works when the Liberals are in charge, like now, the tall person would be made shorter some how because it is "unfair" that only one person should be tall enough to reach the wanted item. After the tall person is shortened, no one can reach the wanted item, leaving all four people more dependent.

Please tell me how many kids you have, since you assert that parents these days are "lazy".

Not unless you're a traveling salesperson or a visiting nurse, or some other professional that spends a lot of time in the car. I was simply answering a post about Studebakers.

I can tell you from personal experience that being without AC in the car in Tucson's summers is a very sweaty (and sometimes nauseating) experience. Ours was down for most of the summer, and we were miserable.

What difference does it make?
Using a game system to keep your children busy is laziness...as lazy as using a TV.
