It is sort of a silly question and a situation that begs the question, why has it taken the Palestinians this long to do so. After all, what other piece of populated land that isn't a part of a sovereign nation stateless? Of course the Palestinians should declare themselves a sovereign nation.
They can take the same route that Israel did. Declare and win it in War or persuade the UN to recognize it via settlement with Israel. Neither for nor against them declaring it.
Or find a piece of land that is not claimed by anyone or on any recognized maps...i.e "Petoria"!
I actually hope the Palistines DO get their own state. That makes the government responsible for the actions of their citizens when they attack other countries. If (when) Hamas animals launch rockets against Israeli civilians, it is an act of war. That paves the way for Israel to retaliate without the great deal of restraint against civilians casualties they have shown in the past.
