of course on the flipside,

if these were normal hetero parents and wanted to send their kid to counseling because he wanted to wear women's undies and kiss boys, then it would be an outrage.

Do you see the lack of logic in this statement?

My point exactly. This boy needs help and he is being allowed to make decisions that are far beyond his comprehension. The fact that they are giving him hormone treatments is reprehensible. I am a firm believer in not telling people how to live their loves or controlling them but this kind of behavior has an effect on this poor buy and who knows what other confusions it may create for other kids.

Get over your guilt and do what is right for this little boy!!

We are talking about a child, that has been raised to think it was a freak for being a boy by age 8, not some guy named Todd

They are.

Hence the blocking of the puberty.

I don't see any child that was raised to think it was a freak to be a boy.

Do you have a different link to talk about?

I find it sad that people screw up kids so badly with made-up disorders. What 7 year old hasn't at some point questioned their gender? That's part of growing up. That's part of why a kid has a mommy and a daddy. At least in a normal home, they do.

But heck...at least Amy and Amy can have a happy "marriage" and equal rights!!!!!

They are delaying puberty for a few years so the child can decide for him/herself.

Do you "strongly suspect that the parents own heavily biased, politicized perspectives influenced them" in this story of heterosexual parents in the same situation?

Parents Consider Treatment to Delay Son's Puberty : NPR

"gay bash".. hardly. for the record, not everyone who disagrees w you on this subject is anti-gay or homophobic. And yes, the parents perspectives ARE influencing how they react to this situation, the fact that there are is also a hetero couple allowing this does not contradict that, as their deision making is just as flawed.

And btw, delaying puberty is itself manipulating the situation because the onset of transformations associated with puberty exert an influence on the child with regards to gender and sexuality considerably.

Also, MANY adult males who are post-puberty undergo successful gender reeasignment surgery, so the suggestion that if he waits until he is adult he will have missed the boat is bogus

I'm trying to find an applicable analogy here, to explain how astronomical the odds of this coincidence are.
Sexual orientation is not the same as gender identity.

Who knew that there would be so many posters who haven't bothered to read the article and watch the video before weighing in with their "expert" opinions?

Any case histories there?

Don't you think these kids are taking themselves way too seriously?

And finally, does the kid want to be a lesbian?

Gosh, if you actually read the article and watched the video you might get the answer to your question.

Considering neither one actually exists....
