Not to mention, there are numerous ways for her to identify herself through the police systems, so once she arrived at the station, should could be easily identified and then they have no legal right to detain her (other than to cite her for the park violation which is likely simply an infraction, ie cite and release).
Poice can detain you up to 48 hours for failure to identify yourself. She must have been giving them a hard time and not telling them who she was. This has been the law for ever.
You were not there. You are speculating. The cops believe they can get away with bs like this because you think "must have been" is good enough.

The problem is there is no accountability for government officials unless they commit a crime. DAs and Cops abuse their power quite often and never suffer retribution.
Keeping somebody in jail for 3 days because they didn't have an ID should result in somebody in LE getting fired or suspended.

It wasn't 3 days. It was a 1 1/2 days. There are 24 hours in a day, not 12. The police have the right to detain you for up to 48 hours without being charged with anything. Learn the laws. And they DO have a reason to detain you if you fail to identify yourself or have been misbehaving.
