The State's agent inspects the lunchbox and tells the little girl her lunch does not meet the States criteria. Are you kidding me?
If you like this kind of government control vote for Obama. Preschooler’s Homemade Lunch Replaced with Cafeteria “Nuggets”
If I were that girl's parent, I'd be outraged, too, but ... Several things:
A) The child was a preschooler; perhaps there are different regulations for preschools vs. elementary schools? I don't know, and I don't even know if there should be; the article was vague and I'm just asking.
B)Sounds like the fault here was with the agent, who was a little too overzealous, considering the girl's lunch did indeed fit the guidelines.
C) How long have these USDA guidelines been in place for preschools? Do they predate the Obama administration? If you don't know, then how can you blame Obama?
D) Not exactly an unbiased news source, is it?

Read the food labels. It is about additives, the GMOs and the disproportionately high amount of grains & carbohydrates pushed by the screwed up FDA "food pyramid".
Theft in the name of school lunches and food mandates upon children is not a position condoned by those who believe in limited government and maximum individual liberty.
Some interesting points. How do you think that agenda got pushed through? Why do you think theres' corn in pretty much everything these days? You don't suppose corporate interests had anything to do with that.
And there was no theft. The girl kept her lunch. In fact, according to the school, she was supposed to eat her own lunch and the so called missing elements would be provided by the school.
There appears to be a great deal of conflicting information in this article. From the administrator saying “It sounds like the lunch itself would’ve met all of the standard.” to them providing her an entire lunch (Of which she only at the nuggets) when the rule is that only the missing element is provided by the school. Either there is a lot of administrative incompetence at that school, or someone isn't telling the truth.
Oh boy. I don't care what there rules are. The whole thing stinks. We are losing our liberty and healthcare is a good way for the government to take it away. The government is doing things that appear to be good for you but really gives them total power over how you live. Cap and trade is another way.
This mom packs her daughter's lunch. It is a turkey and cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread with a banana and apple juice. (I used to get bologna on white bread, soda and Twinkees)

This case is exactly what I have said all along about getting government involved in things like this. That lunch was exactly what had been prescribed except for the fact that the mother had packed some potato chips. Bureaucrats will screw up anything they can touch and this one wasn't elected, either.
Carolina Journal's known for making up stories out of whole cloth to drive ad revenue, and there's no local news story on any of the regional affiliate sites.
Oh you mean Obama's media wouldn't want that story to get out?
I tried to find more on this story, and obvously there is, but couldn't.
Megyn Kelly talked about the meal just about an hour ago. She showed what the government called for and listed what was provided by the mother. All those things that were called for were there but the mother added a few potato chips. My God, we all know that MIchelle doesn't want potato chip companies to be allowed to keep poisoning the people.
As the OP stated, probably Obama. Blame him. I"m not convinced that every thread complaining about government over reach is really about blaming Obama.

You got that one right, Roy!
