Either there is a lot of administrative incompetence at that school, or someone isn't telling the truth.
I think that one could find that the lunch was fine but it contained potato chips, also. Now Michelle wouldn't approve of those chips even though everything else was there.

Actually I had already decided to home school my kids based on a few reasons. This just helps me realize I am right. We have no rights as parents once we drop kids off at school.

Just an example.

3 weeks ago someone came to visit my daughter at school. I found out about it after she told me someone came to visit her at school and was asking questions etc.
Here is how the conversation went:
School admin:hello
Me:yes this is A's father did she have a visitor at school today?
School admin: yes
Me: who was it?
School admin: oh just some people to see the kids
Me: was it ... ?
School admin: well I can't tell you that
Me: they are not allowed to talk to my daughter ever again without my permission or us being notified first
School admin: you don't have that right sir.you have no right to say they can't talk to her here.
Me: I want to be called before she see's any visitor at school
School admin: we can't do that you have no rights to do that.
Me: Click, hung up on the evil witch.

So when I have no rights that means my kids won't be attending a public school ever again. I know who it was who talked to her yet as a parent they refused to tell me who it was, refused to let me know what was talked about etc...no thanks. My kid is my responsibility and under my power until she is 18 years old. They can take their tyrannical view of things and shove it.

Solyent Green anyone?
You may well get to eat my remains just as in Soylent Green if we manage to establish Agenda 21, along with Obamacare and cutting back on old people's care.

I'm all for healthy lunches but this is taking it way too far. Can the school actually get away with this.

So now we have gone from blaming President Obama to blaming his wife.

As an old school administrator and teacher I will have to tell you that I think the laws and rules they have to follow have changed a lot since I was there. I would never have allowed any outsiders to talk to kids without permission. I guess I would have been without a job if I had had to do what that woman did to you and your daughter.

This thread is heavily involved in government control in schools and I think that surely your daughter got to talk to some people I would have thrown out the door, forcibly.

I wish my kids weren't all grown up and out of school.

I'd pack a lunch for my kiddo's that was exactly the same meal that O and M ate the day before in public while they ridicule what America eats.

Was this a letter that addressed that many kids today have food allergies, and things like cookies and candies may contain products that if shared with these students, could cause them to go into anaphalactic shock?

sorry, but there are much more dangers to kids these days. There are twice as many kids tody that have peanut allergies, and commercial candies and cookies are often times, made on machines that handle peanuts. Even a small amount of peanut (the oil) can cause an allergic reaction.

As with anything, there is more to this story, however, to be angry over a letter be sent home because your kid brought something that could be potentially dangerous to other students, is for one over reaction on your part.

Sorry, kids have a propensity of sharing stuff or taking stuff from other kids with or without permission.

One kids lunch should not be altered to suit the special needs of another.
