I agree with you. The point is the kid would have been taken care of by the hospitals if his parents could not afford to pay.

Yes I know, you and I would have ended up paying I just don't think the Govt should tell me how much.

People who think the above are naive. There are people out there who just don't get the care they need. There are some pretty big cracks for people to fall through.

Try READING the information on the link, including the PDF's. They provide very good and easy to comprehend information.

"free medical care" is passed on to the rest of the "consumers" in higher prices and higher insurance premiums.

So in effect WE HAVE A DE FACTO NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN except not everyone contributes to keep it up.

1st implement the "mandate" then go after the cost structure just like MA is doing at the present time.

start making people pay for their so called "free health care" instead of passing the costs on to everyone else.
Absolutely true. In Miami, Jackson Hospital is the go to county hospital for anyone who needs health care and doesn't have insurance. It is constantly on the point of collapse because there are never enough tax payer funds to keep the place going. It's a chaotic mess.

I'm already paying for the health care of thousands of other people every year. Far better that we divvy up the bill so that everyone pays something.

There a lot of children's hospitals that would love to cover and help such a child. It is what they are all about and they have special charitable contributions by doctors in time and people with money that thrive helping in situations like this.

The issue for Conservatives isn't the long term care or support of the elderly or disabled (as this child would currently be under the disabled banner). It is all the other people who want more than temporary saftey nets, free this and that and outrageous pay in government elite over employment welfare (as I call it).
We are being sunk by the giant welfare state. We are especially going broke with it due to our mostly open borders.
