Where the hell does obama get off giving money to charity??? Doesn't government know better where that money should be spent?? Who does he think he is to decide on his own, where that money should go? He should cut a check to the US Treasury, and let our government redistribute that money as it sees fit.

Data from the Internal Revenue Service found that more than 279,000 federal employees and retirees owed $3.4 billion in back income taxes as of Sept. 30, 2010.

Politicians have too much power and everybody wants it.
Actually, people might think he was leading by example and was a man of principle if he actually paid NOW in taxes the percentage he thinks the rich should pay.
Why would someone who supposedly fervently believed in a principle ignore it just because they can get away with it?

It makes him seem even more like a typical bs spewing politician..........you know the one he promised he would not be.

The thing about this Obama - Buffet thing that bothers me most is that Buffet is fighting with the IRS about back taxes from years back. Obama has been sucked in and had, I think.

Most of his income came from books. Do you really think that a sitting President sits around and writes books while in office?

How were Reagan's earnings while in the White House vs when he was an actor?

Why would someone's income be a determinant of how they are doing in the White House anyways? The President is far too busy to spend much time figuring out investments, digging up business opportunities, working on the board of a company, etc.

This may well be something? It may well not. More likely it's a reflection that he hasn't published a book in a long time and he works a job that doesn't really pay in proportion to the responsibility.

Perhaps it would be easier for you if you just wrong a post that said, "I'm whining about Obama". Then people like me wouldn't be able to systematically rip it apart.

meh...as noble as this "Buffet Tax" is...I still think it's a smoke screen to the real problem of how wealth is distributed in the first place. As a chamber, moderate black fiscal conservative, I definitely believe that millionaires, billionaires etc should pay more in taxes. However centralized government is just adding another layer to the cake. Obama is proposing redistribution of wealth, when the real problem imo is single tiered with how it's distributed in from the jump.
