Obama Releases Taxes, Does Not Qualify for Buffett Rule - Matt Vasilogambros and George E. Condon Jr. - NationalJournal.com

Is that "fair"?

Is that a higher effective rate than his secretary?

Just asking!

Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul dismissed the Obama campaign demand. “It’s no surprise with the worst job creation record in modern history that President Obama would try to distract Americans from the real issues with a series of sideshows,” she said. Saul noted that Romney has released his 2010 return and said he will put out his full 2011 return “when it is filed.”
Nothing like a procrastinating President. File your taxes Mitt. I am sure you know an accountant or two.

Looking at the precipitous decline in his income, I think it's safe to say that the shine has worn off of this President. This may well be a good indicator that the world is losing interest in the failed Hope N' Changer.

It was 20.5% because of all the donations that he gave. Without those, it would have been around 30%. If you hate the fact that he paid 20.5%, tell him to stop donating.

C'mon man. He released his book in 2004. He became President in 2009. Both are his highest years. Coincidence?

Each was a spike in book sales. The other years where declining book sales and know they have slowed. It happens with biographies when significant things occur. Same with music and a musicians death (Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston etc.)

I agree the guy is a boob but that has little to do with the large decline in income. Once he leaves the WH it will shoot back up once he starts getting those fat speaking engagement checks.

I don't hate it, I want to know exacty what is "fair."

To me, "fair" is paying the lowest amount you can within the current tax laws. I'm not the one making judgments about what is "fair" and what is not "fair."

He spends quite a bit of time talking about it now, so I wonder if 20.5% is "fair." I also wonder if it is a higher effective rate than his secretary.
