Do you see people going on rampages with cars often? Or do you see them running people over in self-defense?

A gun requires much more responsibility than a car. Crashing a car has more personal and immediate consequences to the user.

If you have to ask permission for a license, it's not a right.
If you have a right to life, and the duty to defend that life from attack, it matters little what method or means you employ to defend that life.

Apparently, since government has banned or restricted all manner of means and weaponry, we must have surrendered our right to life, and now rely on the majority opinion of the democracy before we can proceed to defend ourselves and our property.

Or, perhaps the laws in question are limited in scope to "persons liable".
You should ask government about that.

But hey, let's blame the gun laws and guns for the problems. It couldn't POSSIBLY be due to factors like drugs, gangs, poverty and so forth.

Population density, in Wyoming you can go a long time without any contact with another person, in DC that is almost impossible.

DC ~10,000 per sq/mi
Wyoming ~6 per sq/mi

concealed weapon in a dark alley invites attack. that is why cops carry it open to discourage attack.
dont get me wrong i think muggers should be shot, i just dont like the idea of baiting them.
open carry is better.
what i would like is whether open or concealed the right to not be sued when the criminal attacks me.

So, you say it is unintentional, but what about the older person who runs though the crowd of people?
I say, with a car, it is usually unintentional. With a gun, it is usually not.

And did you really just ask me "Who voluntarily kills anyone?"

either way is fine with me, as long as the citizen is the making the choice. the goverment should not even be involved.

I think it is far too late to change the gun culture here but i have never seen sooooo many citizens who are so scared to go out without a gun........... maybe because i have lived in Countries with tough gun laws.
