Which is a branch of government which is included in the government's discretionary spending, but you already knew that, didn't you american citizen hater.
Im for eliminating all waste regardless of the branch
Nice try but fail. What makes more sense, take cuts from something that is ridiculously over bloated with spending like the military, or something that is a tiny piece like food stamps?
Perhaps you know how much of the USDA budget goes to food stamps??
That depends on where you believe the liquidity crisis exists and what government is doing to resolve the crisis. Who exactly do you consider to be in a liquidity crisis in 2012? Corporations are sitting on piles of money. The stock market is performing at decent levels. Banks are lending money. Where should this "government spending" take place? If your idea of a liquidity crisis is merely that millions of American's are on food stamps and other entitlement programs, then you're not really speaking of a liquidity crisis by most definitions. Your speaking of a solvency crisis, which would mean extending a bailout to millions of Americans if you were to solve that kind of crisis. Personal bailouts aren't the answer.
You've basically made the argument for the other guy without realizing it. Yes, a fair number of corporations are making money, because the problems of unemployment has gradually stabilized and people have found ways to make ends meet in the meantime. It also helps that individuals have discharged debt through bankruptcies and are probably finding ways to live with bad credit -- for now. But this isn't the roaring 90s. Taking away the income that people have would eliminate this new ugly class of consumers who subsist at the bottom, and whether free market acolytes realize it or not, this would probably end up biting retailers in the arse.

American citizen hater. LOL. Now that was funny.
How much of the USDA's budget is discretionary? Go look it up hero.

That's great, but the right wing goons on the other hand think the poor need to go to hell so every possible dime can go to the rich and their corporatist cronies.
Seriously, how big of an idiot would someone have to be to support that kind of stance?
Lets see here, 58% of the entire US budget's spending goes to military, but only 1% to food stamps, yet the extreme right goons want to cut there instead of the ridiculously over-bloated military?
It shows beyond any doubt that the GOP are a bunch of idiots that don't give a damn about anything but to keep bankrolling the snot out of their cronies, while screwing over the poor in an attempt to pay for it.
Sigh/////
What you obviously fail to understand is those in the military have jobs and aren't sucking the entitlement teet.

How are the Dems any different other than rhetoric? Look at the pork..... From both sides. Tempest I like and respect you. But the 2 parties are the same wolf. They wear a different fleece that is the only difference.

Got it?
Sigh/////
What you obviously fail to understand is that the overwhelming amount of that spending goes to defense contractors that charge the US government a ridiculously overinflated amount of money for what they sell (AKA the GOP's corporatist cronies)
What the heroes in uniform get, is that tiny slice called "Veterans benefits"

be honest here. I am a vet and a staunch supporter of those who serve.
That said. Look no further than the civilian jobs on those bases for waste.
Look in the ship yards at the waste.
Golf courses, bowling alleys etc??? Dont get me wrong I am all for rec centers. But the gulf courses are for the big wigs more than anyone else.
How many super carriers do we need?
How many 1 billion dollar stealth bombers do we need?
The military could be streamlined and not lose any effectivness.
