Hey. You said California is popular because it's a welfare state, but you won't say that Texas and Florida are popular for those reasons. Obviously, you believe that welfare benefits are the main reason people move to California. If that isn't ridiculous, I don't know what is.

Jerry has to go Conservative to bail the state out.

Isn't that against the rules in California?

From a 2010 FAIR report (reproduced) in the website:

Quote:
California’s price tag for its 2.55 million illegals, FAIR reports, is $21.8 billion annually. As FAIR concludes, the cost of illegals accounts for all of the budget deficits California and New York now face in 2011: “With many state budgets in deficit, policymakers have an obligation to look for ways to reduce the fiscal burden of illegal migration. California, facing a budget deficit of $14.4 billion in 2010-2011, is hit with an estimated $21.8 billion in annual expenditures on illegal aliens. New York’s $6.8 billion deficit is smaller than its $9.5 billion in yearly illegal alien costs.” Conclusion for these two states? Get rid of the illegals, the deficits disappear.
The Actual Cost Of Illegal Aliens « Giovanni's World

If you take the time to read the article you will see the cost breakdown to California.

On top of what the illegals cost the state, factor in the amount of money that is sent out of the state to their "home" countries, unlike the working stiff whose spending money goes back into circulation in the state.

the whole country is suffering.

from zero hedge today:

Living the California debt based dream – Bankruptcies in California increased 557%

http://www.zerohedge.com/contributed...and-bankruptci

heck, even the ultra rich lost money this week:

The world’s richest people lost a combined $17.1 billion this week as concern over JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM)’s $2 billion trading loss and the weakening euro pushed the Standard & Poor’s (SPY) 500 Index to a two-month low.

for solutions:

the first thing california should do is get rid of steve chu.

then control your border.

california is a beautiful state, which should have people vying to live there-so it is obviously their stupid policies that are driving people away-- and that hurts the people who love their state and really want to stay there.

There is a reason why California has twice the number of illegal aliens living in the state compared to any other state and it sure as heck isn't the tamales....

Top two states

California: 2,209,000
Texas: 1,041,000

And these stats were before Gov Moonbeam took the fantasy land throne....

The deficits are bad in both states (TX & CA) but TX does not have a state income tax AND Texas has been ranked as the top state generating jobs the past couple of years in America.... AND Texas does their state budget quite a bit different then California....

Texas doesn't have families living out of their cars like California does:
