All US citizens, gay and straight, are affected by US law. The marriage law in question is a US law, not a Catholic doctrine. Very few US citizens are affected by Catholic doctrine.
Right. And if Muslims don't want to perform same sex marriages in their mosque, they don't have to.

It's like saying all Christians must now celebrate pagan wedding rituals. Or can't get blood transfusions because some religions don't allow it. I've really never understood why these discussions so frequently turn into quoting from the bible. Even if the bible straight up said 'thou shall not marry the gays', it wouldn't matter unless you happen to follow that particular religion.

I've personally never met anyone who actually feared homosexuals.

I want to go to Heaven. The Bible tells me how to go to Heaven. My Bible tells me in at least 7 locations,
that homosexual acts are wrong.
Phobia is defined as an irrational fear or hatred. What you're asking is basically 'Why is it wrong to be irrational?'
then I take it that it is ok to call alot people on the CD board hoplophobes and to consider their phobia irrational, right?
