Here are more details of Eugene's prior encounters with the law. He was one scary dude! It sounds like his mother didn't pursue charges, but the officers could have for resisting.

We deserve some answers, I think his ex-wife should be more forthcoming with information, anything that might help us understand his mindset.
I really don't think there's any way we're going to understand his mindset at the time he did this act.
A whole lot of people have had violent outbursts and it's certainly understandable in this man with his addiction to pot. Pot is known to bring on paranoia and causes problems with jobs and ambition.
That event with his mother was not all that unusual, the face eating really was.
Did anyone read the article? He had caomiited violence against his mother in the past.
Yes but nothing that got him even locked up --- and she herself didn't see anything that made her think he would do something like he did.
Domestic arguments happen -- more often than we like to think because sometimes family members fight and go overboard but in that one incident with his mother, it stopped as soon as the step-father came in. That's really not all that rare. Especially where there are drugs involved.

Rather than focus on one man. Seems people should look at a series of strange events occurring in a reasonably small area. Several involving hazmat.

Yes -- and Eugene's family and friends say he didn't use drugs other than pot - so was he unknowingly get some kind of chemical that could cause him to go completely beserk? Was a drug intentionally slipped into something he ate or in some other way introduced into his body?
I think it's actually more "comfortable" for us to believe he was a raving lunatic that should have been locked away years ago or that he willingly took a very harmful drug. It would be a lot more frightening to think that a fairly normal person could be exposed unwittedly to something that could turn him or her into a monster because then it could happen to any of us.
What if the girlfriend and family and friends are right - and this cannibal is not the Eugene they knew?
