That entire eloquent post, and it gets cut down by people who still reject all of it because, well I guess people are just that selfish?
Well they are doing the hard work..but where's the "smarts" in driving a taxi ?
The smarts would come into play when you find out what they are doing with their money once they get it. Spend it on stuff like the typical consumer then you're not too smart.

Remember his "The middle class is doing fine" remarks ? They had to take ads out as well for that one to "clarify" his message.
I love to see the left trying so hard to tell us what Obama meant when his foot got crowded in his mouth. He drifted away from his teleprompter, screwed up and now we have to listen to all that, "He meant . . . . . . . " crap. Did you notice how hard certain lefties are working to explain what he meant? I keep wondering which of them get paid for their "good" work.

Lol, the only thing funnier is you wingnuts, knowing exactly what he said, trying to spin it into something it isn't. Pretty lame, and only meant for low infomation voters.

I pick and choose those people i decide to work for, as carefully as i choose my friends. you act as if these "job creators" are villains in a comic book. People are people, whether they are dishonest, power hungry, back stabbing politicians, or a corporate executive. I'm not the one looking to government as the squeaky-clean savior, like the pseudo-socialists on C-D, who appear to worship government.

what is there to misinterpret? Either 0bama belittle the accomplishments of business owners or he belittled then for supposedly not helping to create roads, bridges etc.

The snarky condescension for the private business owner, by our president, was there for all to see.

It's a mixture of many things. Very important, as the President was stating, is the country that you live in. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs would not have been a successes had they been born in Somalia, where they couldn't get the opportunities to become what they became.

Why is our president putting down Somalia? What is our president taking a credit for here?

Of course Mr. Gates and Jobs had it easier in America but there are many people in America who are not much more successf!ul than Somalians.
Have our president seen some of our ghettos like Gary IN or East St. Louis?
Simply being born in America is not a guarantee of success regardless of any infrastructure and social support.

Truth is there are successful people in every country in the world. Many are successful in their country of origin and many come to America and become successfull here. What makes a difference is perserverance and individual drive not anything else.

Shame on you Mr. Obama. Mr. Gates and Jobs already did their part of helpingvthe nation: they catapulted us into technological supremacy, provided thousand I'd jobs and paid taxes. What have YOU done to help this country?

Shame in you Mr. Obama! More speeches like this and people will believe they should be successful just because they were born in America and not because of their personal drive and strong will.

SNARKY CONDESCENSION ... a perfect description of most lefties to anyone not in their camp. That's what bugs me the most and causes me to tune out. At least with the right, I am still shown respect when I disagree. With so many of us in the US still undecided and disgusted with our choices; you'd think the left would rethink their approach. Wait did I say "rethink"? No thinking at all...just waiting for the next celebrity to tell them what to do.

“Right now, the biggest oil companies are raking in record profits — profits that go up every time folks like these pull up into a gas station,” Obama said.

"Think about that,” Obama said. “It’s like hitting the American people twice. You’re already paying a premium at the pump right now. And on top of that, Congress up until this point has thought it was a good idea to send billions more of your tax dollars to the oil industry."

The Senate passed a two-year, $109 billion bipartisan transportation bill in a 74-22 vote Wednesday

Reid said his chamber's bill, cosponsored by Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), would help fix 70,000 failing bridges and save or create 2.8 million jobs.

Another provision that was included in the bill, however, vastly expanded a federal loan program for new transportation projects that often involves so-called "public-private partnerships." Such arrangements often involve outsourcing the management of public infrastructure to Wall Street-backed private companies.

Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.
