Communist dictators like Bachman, Boehner, DeMint, Perry, etc who want to socially tax and legally control every aspect of a womans life to keep her carrying a mans luggage for him. You'll be left with
-affluent elitist transnational corporations not beholden in allegiance to this nation chaining women to hamster wheels in the marianna islands
-dirt poor citizens covering the <taxation with stolen representation> note on corporate lobbyists writing blank checks for their Monarchs
-continue importing poverty through illegal aliens to maintain cheap labor supplies for aspiring transnational corporate monarch wannabees. All hail golden calves.

Fake republicans still don't know they're confessing their own crimes, throwing tantrums pointing at their authoritah when the flock doesn't follow. The penitent man shall pass. Not the man insisting he won't apologize for his hubris, and his squandering of his own children's heritage for a bag of Ayn Rand magic beans.

I've never been a member of any political party...

Sometimes I think people forget Republicans have a storied past going all the way back to Abraham Lincoln.

Maybe it is different in other parts of the country??? The SF Bay Area has many women in positions of Leadership and the Democratic party dominates...

As for multinationals with huge off-shore interests... no discussion would be complete without mentioning GE... and the CEO of GE has strong ties to the present administration...

Just saying...

You're absolutely flipping nuts, lady. I don't know why anyone takes you seriously. I'm a 4th generation Californian, born in Santa Barbara, have lived in more than 12 cities from San Diego to Chico, and have never lived anywhere else these past 46 years. The fact is that you don't see the California you don't want to see.

By "conservatarian," I mean that I am fiscally conservative and support significant cutbacks of government social net "benefits," requiring drug testing for welfare and food stamps, and absolutely loathe Obamacare. I think the current GOP is full of fiscal hypocrites. On the other hand, I believe gays should have the privilege to marry and divorce and I believe that government should legalize but seriously tax and regulate (in this case, it's fair to do so) all drug use.

However, California's conservative population stands at 30% of the electorate at the moment. Fiscal conservatives have made some gains this year as citizens have passed much-needed employee pension reform in San Jose and San Diego, as well as defeated a poorly-worded increase in the state cigarette tax. Ed Lee is the current mayor of San Francisco and about on par with Mayor Gray of Lexington, KY, a moderate Democrat; he's certainly right of the previous SF mayor, now-Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Yes, California is politically one-sided generally and really has been since Gov. Pete Wilson left office. Even Schwarzenegger wasn't particularly conservative. However, California still serves as a world center of finance, elite higher education, scientific research, technological innovation, agriculture, cosmopolitan urbanism, the "new urbanism" known as L.A. (for better or worse), aeronautics, and shipping and distribution. Sure, politically and fiscally, California is very much struggling. But, I literally meet conservatives outside of CA who are afraid of the "gay agenda" or hate California because of "overcrowding" or groan about all the "hassles of getting to the beach" (and they don't mean traffic). I wish I was being a troll, but I kid not, and these people have never been to California.

Yet...FOX NEWS is based smack dab in Manhattan! The nation's largest conservative think tanks, i.e.: Heritage and Landmark Legal, are based in D.C. Some of the most prominent talk radio hosts, Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, and Ingraham, have been based in the Northeast. NJ has Chris Christie as their current governor. Yet the most urban parts of the Northeast are arguably more strongly democratic than even California (save for SF). I mean, you can easily venture into the San Gabriel Valley, Palos Verdes, Riverside, or Orange Co. and find more conservative areas around L.A. Let's not forget San Diego, also.

Guess what? Hawaii is even MORE liberal than California, Chicago or the NE and has the absolute closest rendition of universal healthcare that can be found in the U.S. Do you hate Hawaii?

I'm from the South and so many people there want to visit Chicago and New York. However, the most die-hard of the "Tea Party" types have no desire to set foot in California, and I literally can't get in a word edgewise with these die-hards when I defend the state. Kind of makes me glad I never went to a Tea Party rally.

So, fellow conservatives...what gives?!

I don't care where people live. I care more about what they think.

Alaska has some really nice scenery, but the rest of humanity actually considers a key part of beach enjoyment to be the ability to actually sunbathe and get in the water. Hawaii has you beat there by about infinity. Try doing that in Alaska and you may die of hypothermia.
Speak for yourself. I would choose a mountain vacation over a beach vacation any day. In fact, if I never set foot in FL again in my life, I would be a happy camper. And swimming in the ocean..... many of us would look at that as torture.

It's amazing how delusional so many conservatives are. The total difference in taxes between supposedly "high tax" California and supposedly "low tax" Texas is just 2%. That said Californians make an average of ~15% more than Texans so they still make ~13% more money.

Our right wing friends are missing the forest for the trees.

...and you're overlooking the fact that the cost of living in TX is far lower than CA. Texas ranks 7th in lowest cost of living -- California is 46th.

Strange that you would think only conservatives compare taxes and income between states.

And BTW, please provide a link to your stats.

That's where you're wrong. You don't "live" in Texas, you exist. You actually "live"in California, so the premium is worth it.
