The 6 Raunchiest, Most Depraved Sex Acts (From the Bible) | Cracked.com
The Bible is full of murder, adultery, stealing, idol worship, perverse sexual practices, lies, incest, abuse, slavery, cruelty and baby killing.

The very first book has rape for GOd's sake.
Slate blogs the Bible. - Slate Magazine

Genesis 34..
Now Dinah, the daughter Leah had borne to Jacob, went out to visit the women of the land. 2 When Shechem son of Hamor the Hivite, the ruler of that area, saw her, he took her and raped her. 3 His heart was drawn to Dinah daughter of Jacob; he loved the young woman and spoke tenderly to her. 4 And Shechem said to his father Hamor, “Get me this girl as my wife.”

That's just sick.

Think about this for a minute. If you had another book, which wasn't the bible, just a book full of the same stories, and read that with children, you could be charged with a crime.

Disseminating Matter Harmful to Juveniles
Furnishing, selling or presenting obscene material to a juvenile directly and in any manner constitutes disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. Additionally, merely offering to do so can be considered a crime of distribution of harmful material.

Think about it. How many people know the story of Lot and his daughters and his incest? Besides from the Bible? And when did they learn that story? When they were 18 and could handle it?
Lot (biblical person) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ezekiel 23:20
"There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses."

That's in motel rooms, people. A book full of perversions and filth.

heh .. we've got people going around shooting people in movie theatres and churches in this country "today", and here we are, worried about some old dead guy having incest in a book that nobody reads.

If I were any of you, I would be more concerned with what children are looking at on the television, cable, or the internet .. reading some dried up old book that nobody likes to read anyway, is pretty mild when you consider what goes on in today's modern media.

Irony .. back in the "olden days", the Bible was read to children all the time, and no one went around shooting up the community trying to kill everyone they saw.

Somehow I think that reading those dried up old Biblical stories might not be such a bad thing afterall .. Maybe we would have less of those movie theatre, church, and school shootings that everyone seems to be so into these days.

The bible, or any religious text for that matter, do not belong in any form of public school.

Children need to be taught facts, backed up with substantiating evidence. Not some BS little fairy tale.

I'm glad that you apparently support no longer teaching evolution in public schools.

There is exponentially more evidence of evolution than there is of creationism.

Religion is for the weak and feeble. It is used to control the sheep and remove their money from their wallets. It is a crutch for those who cannot make their own decisions.

There is a reason why studies show the more religious a state is the lower the average IQ tends to be.

Where did I ever mention creationism in this thread?
