If you would take the time to actually read the Gospel, you would find that it's not that easy. It's very difficult to get into Heaven.
I'm more worried about my bad deeds than my good deeds. Put it in perspective in regards to life. If you save 20 people, but murder 1, do you not get 20 to life because of your good deeds?
You bring up murder and other extremes very often in this thread as if that is exclusive to atheists. You know full well that that is just not true. One should not worry about their bad deeds, one should just stop doing them. As for the Gospel, I already know right from wrong and find it absolutley fascinating that the very people that preach it, fail to live it. The meanest spirited, screw the underdog mentality and greediest people seem to be the ones that proclaim their Chritianity the most.

It is said that those that speak about Christianity will be held more accountable than others, so it's a double edged sword. It takes a great deal of discipline to abide by the words of Christ.
Screw organized religion and the bigots who believe in the fairy tales wanting to impose their beliefs on others. If it weren't for religion and governments, 99% of the world conflicts wouldn't have happened. These 2 entities are the biggest threats to mankind.
Well who DIDN'T see this coming when religion became a political issue and was used by politicians? Nobody can possibly be surprised. When you fly under the radar you can get away with many things and you reputation won't suffer as much as when you put yourself out there and let everyone see how rediculous you actually are.

You poor thing, one day you will realize that there is no heaven, and you will look back on all the years and effort you wasted on nonsense.
Take "taking human life" for example (as murder is too strong a word)
Bible says "thou shalt not kill"
We have the death penalty and abortion, both sanctioned by the government via laws.
Before Roe vs Wade, abortion was treated as a felony in some states.
Government legislated morals (when it's legally ok to take a human life) are at odds with religious beliefs in this case.
Atheists don't believe in God and therefore wouldn't treat the holy books as such.
If government changes the laws, atheists tend to go with them.
Technically incorrect seeing as Jewish law allows for abortion in certain cases, and in some cases demands it. The Jewish command of "thou shalt not kill" is far more specific than the English cliche. Abortion does not neatly fall under that command.
It was late when I wrote that, I meant to say I would choose science over religion any day. "God" is an unprovable term much like what is beyond measurable science is currently unprovable and thus god-like.
