.... He's going to be on his own. The taxpayers have no responsibility to protect or hide someone for exercising their right to free speech in the manner he chose to do so.
Actually they do.
One of the most fundamental roles of government is to protect the people and their rights.
I think you are wrong here. The government wants everything to do with him.
They are all over the net and ME news saying it's not the USG's fault, it's the movie.
This guy, not US foreign policy or perpetual wars against them, is responsible for all the protests.
that doesn't make sense. WHY would they want anything to do with him if he hasn't violated probation? As far as we know he has not broken any other laws. So What do you think the government is going to do with him? This is pretty high profile. If they try to charge him with anything, there are LOTS AND LOTS of highly qualified lawyers and experts in the law that could and would call the "government" in a minute on a political prosecution.
Please give examples of what you think the "government" could or would do with this man officially regarding this situation.
Again, I think they might just want to leave him on his own. His free speech, his actions, he gets to live with the consequences. Do you really think that it would be impossible for some group to slip into the U.S. to target just one man?
One of the most fundamental roles of government is to protect the people and their rights.
the "government" does not hire special security for each and every American, nor does it pay to have them hidden away for protection.
What on earth makes you think the taxpayers have any responsibility to pay for this man to go into hiding? This is not a criminal case where as PART OF A DEAL to testify against someone or turn over critical evidence the government will put you in a witness protection program. The government is responsible for the general security and welfare of its people.
Could you possibly have made a more misleading post?
First, the link is about Bill Maher, NOT the man who make the cheap so-called movie trailer specifically insulting one religion.
Bill Maher's movie insulted ALL religions, not just Islam.
Your post is pathetic, and indicative of how far all the really hard, hardcore right wingers are having to go to defend the action of the man who made Innocence of Mohammed.
Mmmm, not really a duplicate thread. This is not about Terry Jones but is about the man who made the "movie." Two different people.
