The part time status of 30 hours or less has to be in effect for 12 months per Obamacare. The IRS has said so.
So to qualify their employees as part time (under 30 hours) the companies must really make them part time under 30 now so they will qualify.

No, but redefining full time work as 30 hours is new.

Employers will always find ways to limit their "liability." Always have, always will.
And Obamacare changed the rules (full time status) so the companies are adjusting, "just like always".

But that is all gone away with Obamacare because 30 hours is now considered full time status for all companies.

For a person who worked 39 hours p/t they would be losing 10 hours a week, 40 hours a month.
To the working poor, that is some significant money. And that may force them to now work 2 p/t jobs to make what they used to make at one job.

Those on annual salaries can just dismiss it because it doesn't effect them. It's the working poor making min wage and not able to get full time status that will be hurt the most. And aren't these the very people that Obamacare was supposed to help ?

And the consequences of that ? will the UE rate drop in 2013 ? will it show increases of PT employees?

Just as I said the UE will drop no matter if it is Obama/Romney and they will pat their selves on the back and take credit for their programs working. And the ignorant will eat this sheet up like it is a Philly steak sandwich

Last month did..we added nearly 500,000 new part time jobs. That's what brought the rate down.
Did you miss that one ?

Gas stations used to hire high school kids at a $1-$2 an hour, they check oil, tires, clean windows, etc... and then we raised minimum wage and now we pump our own gas, and many people never check their tires or oil. Every time government steps in to demand more, we end up with less.

What you are going to see is more people working over 50 hours a week and more people working less than 30, increased income inequality.

This has been going on forever. My BIL worked doing flooring for a store 30 years ago he had health care. The stores decided they could make more money by having them be sub contractors all benefits gone with a slight increase in what they are paid so they can afford to pay for their own health care. Now thirty years later they have to pay for liability insurance, workers compensation, hire a helper and pay taxes on him and most flooring people can't afford health care for themselves never mind for their helper. That small increase and pay raises got less and less to a point that health care was a thing of the past. All while the owners got richer and richer, aquired more personal homes, cars and vacations. Any way Kroeger's can make a dime at the expense of the working man they will. It is what the world has become about. Dog eat dog world. The good news for those people with Obamacare...... is if they are making a good salary they will be able to buy health care according to how much money they make. I'm guessing they aren't paid that great so many of they will be added to the list of medicade. Obamacare will expand medicade. The middle class is disappearing.
