This is just ignorant BS.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I have been all over the South and it is as beautiful as any other part of the country. Only ignorant bigots say things like this. You are blinded by regional hate. How stupid is that?
The poster spoke of Oklahoma and Mississippi. I commented on the general ugliness of the landscapes there. Your attempt at beauty relativism is rather feeble. Since autumn has just passed, shall we compare photos of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan with Oklahoma and Mississippi in the fall? How about the summer, as well? And spring. And winter. Yes, my dear, Mississippi is just as beautiful as Wisconsin or upper Michigan or Vermont or Colorado or Alaska..."Everything is beautiful, in its own way..."
I then broadened out to a discussion of the layer of grime that coats the South. Don't take my word for it. Come up here and listen to the remarks from Southerners after they get up here and comment on how clean everything is in comparison. You have a choice to make. You can whine and get hurt feelings when people point out your flaws or the flaws of that which surrounds you, or you can change those things.
I'd agree with you to a point. But In many ways the poster is correct. There are many dirty, broken down areas in the south, the lack of good paying jobs and many years of neglect have made many areas of this country, mostly small towns and rural America, into vast wastelands. Add to that the abuse of the earth, expoitation without restoration....
All that occurs everywhere though, NY NY can be a nasty dirty place, grime, trash and years of smog make it a place you don't want to touch. The rust belt cities have many years of neglect.
But having driven all over this country, east of the Mississippi, in our RV the south does have more rural and small town squalor.
I agree that many places in this country are filthy dirty places, but for someone to say that the South is filthy and dirty is just outright ignorance. I have seen this in the North and Midwest as well as the West.

Now you really make me laugh. You could do good in stand up comedy.
Comparing north and west to the south is like comparing Zurich to Dhaka. I am sure Zurich has some poor and dirty parts and Dhaka has some really nice and clean parts.
Were your conservative bretherens anscestors enslaved, subject to jim crow laws, denied access to education and jobs, segregated in ghettos, lynched, not given voting rights, treated worse than animals etc.?
There is simply no excuse for whites to be dirt poor in a white dominated and controlled country.
I don't think those topics were covered on FOX News.....

Still blaming failure on things that happened 150 years ago?
East St. Louis, Illinois is becoming popular tourist destination for Red Staters looking for crack.

I'll bet you don't need to go very far back in history to find that most of the people on the earth have been enslaved and treated badly, and inhumanly in many ways. Come on, this is the greatest country in the world. Get a grip. Stop with all the excuses and hate.
