You've been warned.
If I am ever driving through Texas, I will probably stop and say "hi" to a few friends I have living in that state and probably not care too much about any of the Texans with gun racks....I have lived in areas where gun racks were common, so they don't really scare me....and often times, they tend to be pretty nice people.

I didn't say they were far right conservatives, just moderate conservatives, at least that was the feeling I got from people there when I visited. I am sure the Tea Party would still consider them to be liberals.

One thing I will say about Red States that got on my nerves....RELIGIOUS FUNDAMENTALIST BILLBOARDS!

And I don't mean the cute "before the game, why not spend Sunday at my house? Sincerely, God" signs either. I'm talking "ABORTION IS MURDER!" and "Repent or Burn!"

I mean, would you ever see this one in Washington State?

And yes, the atheists "you dumb for believing in gaawwwd!" signs are idiotic too, but there aren't nearly as many of them in blue states (most of us can't stand them either) as there are BOW TO JESUS OR DIE! signs in red states.

Is it like our "it always rains in the Northwest" cover that we tell people to prevent them from moving to the Northwest?

I have to admit it is kind of interesting to think that some of these places had more people 100 years ago then they do today.
try driving through blue new mexico. you'll think OK is rich in comparison.

Literally the most depressing place I've ever seen was a Native American reservation in New Mexico. It was heartbreaking. Far, far more depressing than any rough inner-city neighborhood I've seen.

New Mexico though is a truly beautiful state, though Oklahoma has some pretty areas as well.
